Heba Hashem is an Arabic and English-speaking independent journalist based in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. Her passion for the media industry was first ignited over 10 years ago and since then her printed work has been prolific. Skilled in the interview techniques to turn her hand to any subject matter, Heba is au fait with sectors from lifestyle and retail to Islamic finance and nuclear energy. With an expertise in culture, travel and the arts, Heba first cut her teeth on the industry working for a Cairo-based monthly city guide. After which, she spent time embedded in PR agencies working with clients like the world-class hospitality group Meydan, and on projects such as the globe’s leading equestrian race, the Dubai World Cup. More recently, she has supported global events such as the World Green Economy Summit through Thomson Reuters, and the World Government Summit, through White Paper Media. And with a keen eye for what makes a good story and headline, Heba’s knowledge of global editorial standards, sound communication through soundbites and the value of perfect translation, have proven invaluable throughout her career.
Heba holds a B.A. in Communications & Media Studies from Middlesex University and a B.A. in English-Arabic translation from Cairo University. She is a member of the esteemed Chartered Institute of Journalists in the United Kingdom since 2009.
